Policy maker’s involvement in prevention and control of NCDs
Members of parliament being champions in prevention and control of NCDs
Due to gaps in policies and legislation for prevention and control of NCDs. TANCDA conducted sensitization session with members of parliament on NCDs and risk factors
During the meeting we had people living with NCDs who gave out testimonies which really touched the members of parliament
The outcome was overwhelming where it convinced the Hon Speaker on the need for the committee to oversee the NCDs in Tanzania.
But during parliament session members were talking and advocating for change and increase more efforts in prevention of NCDs
The committee has been formalized within the parliament and TANCDA is continuing to build its capacity to spear-head the NCDs agenda in prevention and control of NCDs.

The next capacity building meeting is set for September 8th 2021
