Enabling the Right to Health through Universal Health Coverage for People Living with NCDs

Join governments and global thought leaders to explore how the right to health is realised for people living with noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) through Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The event will launch the NCD advocacy priorities and key asks ahead of the 2023 UN High-Level Meeting on UHC on 21 September. The HLM marks an important moment for advancing the prevention and control of NCDs, and at the highest level.

NCD Alliance will also officially announce the sixth edition of the Global Week for Action on NCDs, which will take place from 14 to 21 September, and will focus on the care gap.

Despite the progress following the adoption of the 2019 Political Declaration of the United Nations High-Level Meeting on UHC, implementation is still lagging.

This event will convene governments and global thought leaders to share examples and recommendations of how governments can and must effectively include people living with NCDs in the progressive realisation of UHC.

The event will be co-hosted by NCD Alliance, World Health Organization, and The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.
