Increasing the Visibility of Dementia in the Context of the UN High-Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)

Despite being the fifth leading cause of death among NCDs globally, and projected to become the third overall cause of death by 2040, dementia continues to be omitted from key frameworks and policies, hindering efforts to address the condition’s growing burden. With many of dementia’s most prominent risk factors shared with other NCDs, there is a clear rationale and need to integrate dementia into global efforts to address the rising prevalence of NCDs.

This webinar will explore this critical intersection between dementia and NCDs in the context of the upcoming 4th UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs and Mental Health, where Member States are negotiating a political declaration on the prevention and control of NCDs and mental health.

The session will also highlight valuable lessons from current NCD strategies to bolster health and social care systems for dementia diagnosis, treatment, and support, including rehabilitation and palliative care. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the benefits of risk reduction and prevention innovation, and have your questions answered directly from experts and those with lived experience of dementia.

In-person attendance to this event is by invitation only.
