Objectives
Reducing premature mortality from noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) is a global priority under Sustainable Development Goal target 3.4. Individuals with NCDs face increased risks of severe outcomes from common infections.

Study design
Short communication examining the role of vaccination as an underutilized strategy to protect people living with NCDs.

Methods
We reviewed evidence on the interactions between infectious diseases and NCDs and examined the potential contribution of vaccination to reducing adverse health outcomes among high-risk populations.

Results
Vaccination against influenza, pneumococcal disease, COVID-19, and other pathogens reduces hospitalizations, complications, and mortality among people living with NCDs. However, vaccination remains insufficiently integrated into NCD prevention and management frameworks.
Conclusions
Strengthening the integration of vaccination into NCD strategies could reduce avoidable morbidity and mortality and support progress toward global NCD targets
