This field visit to the Uganda Cancer Institute was carried out as part of the Global Week for Action on NCDs under the theme "Time to Lead". By taking leadership in understanding more about cancer and its impact, our team at NCD Alliance East Africa aimed to deepen our role as advocates. The visit allowed us to engage directly with health professionals and patients, reinforcing the need for better facilitation and treatment for NCDs such as cancer.

This initiative serves to push forward our advocacy for improved healthcare, and it strengthens our resolve ahead of the UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs. By equipping ourselves with this knowledge, we are better positioned to advocate for stronger policies and improved care for NCD patients across the region.
