NCD Alliance Ghana 2026 Global Week of Action on NCDs Communications and Advocacy Campaign

NCD Alliance Ghana is implementing a social media and advocacy campaign as part of Global Week for Action on NCDs, focused on political leadership and accountability for NCDs and mental health under the global #TimeToLead campaign.

The campaign will feature the stories and perspectives of people living with NCDs, people living with mental health conditions, caregivers and other people affected by NCDs and mental health conditions. Through photographs, quote cards, short videos and community voices, these lived experiences will highlight the realities of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, access to care, financing and long-term management, while connecting them to key advocacy priorities.

A Political Leadership Series will highlight the role of political and health sector leadership in advancing Ghana’s commitments on NCDs and mental health. The series will use short video messages and evidence-based advocacy content to highlight progress, remaining gaps and actions needed to accelerate implementation.

The campaign will also feature community and civil society perspectives on NCD prevention, financing and service delivery, highlighting ongoing efforts, gaps and priorities for further action.

Other campaign activities will include public accountability content on the Ghana Medical Trust Fund and the Free Primary Health Care Policy, including community vox pop interviews exploring public awareness, understanding, accessibility, utilisation and expectations. The campaign will also highlight mental health financing through advocacy content addressing the Mental Health Fund, current financing gaps and the need for stronger implementation.

The campaign will run from 31st August to 4th September 2026 as part of Global Week for Action on NCDs and will extend beyond the week through continued advocacy, policy engagement and community-focused activities to keep NCDs and mental health high on Ghana’s national agenda.
