Regional Advocacy meeting "Partnership to Enhance Impact"

As we approach the fourth United Nations High-Level Meeting (HLM) on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) in September 2025, enhancing regional advocacy efforts is imperative. Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) play a crucial role in strengthening NCD advocacy by driving accountability, raising awareness, and pushing for progress against NCD targets.

In collaboration with the global NCDA, EM-NCDA will convene two virtual meetings in the lead-up to the high-level meeting on NCDs to mobilize regional responses. The first meeting, titled "Partnership to Enhance Impact," aims to facilitate collaboration, amplify the collective voice of national and regional NCD alliances, and provide a critical platform for alliance members to unite, strengthen their bonds, and work towards voicing regional priorities and common goals for NCD prevention and control.

Objectives

  • Foster collaboration among the members of the alliance and mobilize alliance members towards action on the NCD regional agenda.
  • Create a platform where members can exchange ideas, share resources, and form partnerships to address common challenges more effectively.
  • Galvanize regional efforts and mobilize advocacy initiatives ahead of the global NCDA forum in Kigali, Rwanda, in October 2024.
  • Provide an opportunity to discuss the response to the global and regional consultations on the UNSG and financing reports.
