The relationship between dietary patterns, climate changes and NCDs

Over the past 20 years, an ever-increasing amount of scientific evidence has underlined the relevance of health diet a predominantly plant-based dietary pattern to improve human health, and to improve the ability of our planet to support future human populations together with the biological diversity that sustains us. Plant-centric diets have been demonstrated to reduce the incidence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and can in some cases can even reverse these conditions. This understanding suggests that policy approaches, with a concentration on advancing food and nutrition systems to prevent, manage and reverse these conditions at individual, clinical and population levels, can be effective to prevent and reverse the rising prevalence of chronic disease.

The Eastern Mediterranean NCD Alliance is hosting a series of Webinars in partnership with WHO/ EMRO, Isfahan Cardio Vascular diseases prevention centre, to address dietary change to synergistically address human and planetary health.
