SOCIAL MEDIA CHALLENGE 2026

The Social Media Challenge 2026 is a public digital advocacy campaign launched on X by Alphonse Mbarushimana, Executive Director of the Rwanda Non Communicable Disease Alliance (RNCDA), to celebrate the 2026 Global Week for Action on NCDs. Designed to spark dynamic online engagement and amplify public awareness across Rwanda, the challenge mobilizes the public, youth advocates, healthcare champions, and communities to lead the dialogue around non communicable diseases.

Participants enter the contest by publishing a single post on X focusing on critical NCD themes, such as prevention, early detection, condition management, or lived experiences and personal testimonials. To qualify, every post must tag the official handle @RwandaNCDA and include the campaign hashtags #LeadOnNCDs, #ActOnNCDs, and #GW4ARwanda.

Running through Friday, 4th September 2026, the challenge recognizes impactful public health storytelling and digital advocacy. The three participants whose single qualified entries generate the highest overall engagement will be rewarded with special awards for driving meaningful community mobilization.
