Transformative health policies for NCDs: Emphasizing the importance of an integrated approach for cardiovascular renal and metabolic conditions

Join us for an event – produced by Devex, organized and funded by AstraZeneca and Boehringer Ingelheim and in partnership with the International Society of Nephrology and the Global Patient Alliance for Kidney Health – that will deep-dive into the challenges and opportunities surrounding cardiovascular, renal and metabolic conditions, including the urgent need for global recognition of their close interconnections and for prioritizing their care. As part of this discussion, we will also highlight the increasing prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) as an example of why we need better care models for early detection, treatment and monitoring of chronic diseases. CKD is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality, impacting millions worldwide. Despite its significant prevalence, it often remains overlooked in global health agendas.

Key discussions on noncommunicable diseases, or NCDs, will set the stage for the United Nations High-Level Meeting on NCDs and mental health in 2025, as well as an updated World Health Organization NCD framework and guidelines.

We’ll be joined by a diverse group of experts – including healthcare professionals, policymakers, patient organizations, and representatives from multilateral organizations – to explore how these platforms can help advocate for early detection and integrated care models for cardiovascular, renal and metabolic conditions.

NCD Alliance CEO, Katie Dain, will be speaking at the event.
