As the Global Week for Action on NCDs continues its focus on leadership, this year’s Leadership in Focus: From Commitments to Delivery campaign highlights how commitments are being translated into delivery, accountability and impact. We want to showcase the stories, lessons and practical examples that demonstrate what leadership looks like in different countries and communities, and inspire others to build on your experience.

There are several ways to contribute. You can share a Leadership Capsule, a self-recorded video of up to 90 seconds that tells your leadership story in three simple steps:

  • What challenge did you face?
  • What action did you take?
  • What changed as a result?

We are particularly interested in the final question. Tell us about the difference your work made, whether that was a policy change, stronger partnerships, improved access to care, increased awareness, or another step towards better health outcomes. You can also submit a shorter video reflecting on what leadership on NCDs looks like in your community, or share a quote that captures an important lesson, a moment of progress, or one action leaders should take next. Post your stories on across your social media channels!

There are even more ways to get involved. Through One Fact, One Ask, share one fact about NCDs in your country or community, together with one clear action you want decision-makers to take. For example: “Too many people in our community still travel several hours to access diabetes care. We are calling for NCD services to be integrated into primary health care.” Or: “Too many children are exposed to unhealthy food marketing. We are calling for stronger regulation to protect child health.Use our editable template to create your social media cards.

You can also take part through What Could One Dollar Buy?, helping to connect discussions about financing with everyday realities. Show what one dollar means in your context, whether it is transport to  a clinic, essential medication, a healthy meal, a basic diagnostic test or another simple intervention that can improve health. You could also highlight how investing in prevention today can reduce the cost of treatment tomorrow. An editable template for a social media card is available here.

Every contribution helps build a richer picture of leadership in action across the global NCD movement. By sharing your experiences, you can inspire others, demonstrate progress, and help show how leadership is being translated into delivery and measurable impact.
