The simple truth

Life expectancy rises with coverage of health services. This infographic looks at the relationship between health coverage and life expectancy at birth, by country. At least half of the world’s population does not currently have full coverage of essential health services, the vast majority in low- and middle-income countries. This means that in LMICs, average life expectancy is 18.1 years lower than in high-income countries.
