Investment in/prioritisation of data and surveillance
Indonesia is one of the few countries completing all five WHO-supported population surveys on NCD risk factors and related behaviours. These include the WHO STEPwise approach to NCD risk factor surveillance (STEPS), the Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS), the Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS), the Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) and the Global School Health Policies and Practices Survey (G-SHPPS). This comprehensive evidence base of essential data is crucial for data-driven policy making.
